OFFICIAL TOCOG STATEMENT ON INTERNATIONAL TICKETS

Please note that the recent announcement on the 5 Party Meeting of not allowing entry into Japan for overseas spectators means that, as based on the present situation of the pandemic, it is highly unlikely that entry into Japan will be guaranteed this summer for people from overseas, no special measure to allow entry into Japan of a person for being a ticket holder of Tokyo 2020 Games will be taken into consideration.

The various eligibilities and conditions for entry into Japan and associated requirements during the stay (including but not limited to self-quarantine period, itinerary limitations, use of public transportation) are solely set by the Government of Japan from time to time, which Tokyo 2020 is not in a position to confirm. However, if you may wish to consult the latest update of such regulations and requirements, we recommend you check the posted information on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as cited below.

https://www.mofa.go.jp/ca/fna/page4e_001053.html

With that said and as a matter of clarification, thus, as for those people who are residing in Japan or overseas residents who will be eligible to enter Japan (regardless of whether or not the person holds the Tokyo 2020 tickets), in compliance with the immigration rules of Japan (including regulations on both entry and during the stay), and if they can attend a games session using a ticket as long as they comply with such established rules, then they will use the ticket. Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee won’t cancel tickets unless they are submitted for a return.

26 March 2021

APPLICATION TO RETURN TOKYO 2020 TICKETS

As you now know, on 20th March 2021 the Japanese Government has made the unprecedented shock decision to restrict the entry of international spectators into Japan for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

We are incredibly sympathetic and understand just how much of a disappointment this must be for all of our Olympic and Paralympic Games fans, as well as our entire team at KSG, who have worked tirelessly over the last 4 years for these Games, only to be shut out at the very last moment.

KSG will work through the various issues arising which are governed by the unfortunately complex process that has been and / or is still being implemented by TOCOG and the suppliers in Japan.

As a result of this decision, the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (TOCOG) have amended their policy and will now accept, via a request process which needs to be managed by KSG, event tickets for consumers that purchased their tickets from KSG and that are affected by this decision.

Unfortunately, TOCOG has imposed a tight and short deadline for such return requests (over which deadline and process we have no control), therefore all clients that intend on requesting a return to TOCOG of their event ticket order will need to complete, sign, and return the document called TOKYO 2020 TICKET RETURN REQUEST FORM to KSG by no later than Friday 2nd April 2021.

Please note this deadline for such returns, as time is of the essence

Please note thank you can only return the entirety of your event ticket order, there are no partial event ticket returns permitted.

Please note that nothing herein shall be nor shall be deemed to be or constitute a waiver, release, modification, variation or amendment in whole or in part to KSG’s terms and conditions of sale (or any aspect thereof) which terms and conditions at all times remain and prevail, and relied upon by KSG.

RETURN YOUR TICKETS

If you are unable to travel to the Tokyo 2020 Games solely due to the decision of the Japanese Government on 20 March 2021,to restrict international spectators into Japan, you can undertake the following steps to look at what options may be available to you.

  1. Contact your Travel Insurance Provider to seek what is available to you for any out-of-pocket expenses you may incurred (as recommended by our Terms and Conditions of sale).

  2. Request KSG commence the application process with TOCOG to return your event tickets for an event ticket face value refund in Japanese Yen, by the following process:

           a. Download your return request form here https://tokyo.kingdomsg.com/postponed
           b. Complete the form, sign and email to 2020returns@kingdomsg.com
           c. Ensure this is returned NO LATER than Friday 2nd April 2021, and forms submitted after this date will not be accepted by TOCOG and you will have lost the chance of such event ticket return.
           d. If no form is received it will be presumed you will want to have your event ticket order fulfilled and supplied

We are aware clients would like clarity on the date they will be provided any ticket face value refunds by TOCOG.

TOCOG have informed us that TOCOG is having this actioned sometime from June 2021 onwards (TOCOG have not confirmed a precise date yet).

Any event ticket funds returned will also include shipping fees associated with your order.

Please note that KSG’s terms and conditions regarding your Games’ purchases remain and are not waived, varied, or amended by this request form or any of KSG’s communications.

KSG makes no representation nor give any warranty as to when TOCOG shall process any returned ticket refunds.

Package / Ticket Bundle / Hospitality clients only

Whilst TOCOG are trying to formalise a ticket return and refund policy, other non-ticket components of any packages you may have purchased are subject to a number of varying factors concerning stakeholder suppliers such as hotels, transport and tour organisations, etc.

As the Japanese Government decision on international spectators only occurred a few days ago, without much detail as to precisely whom that actually includes, it is very early on in the process for us to meaningfully know what further details and policies will emerge in Japan and how those polices shall impact upon our package clients.

We shall update package clients on the non-ticket component aspects of packages as soon as we have further meaningful information of some substance from the Japanese suppliers.  Please note however that unfortunately we do not expect this to be quick process and will take some weeks for such information to be forthcoming.

We therefore ask for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented event.

Please note that KSG’s terms and conditions regarding your Games’ purchase remain and are not waived, varied or amended by anything herein or any of KSG’s communications.

24th March 2021 Important  Information for Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games clients:

✅ KEEP OR ❌ RETURN YOUR TICKETS

Commencing later this week KSG will release details of the policies issued by Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee (TOCOG) on the ability for clients to either KEEP their Olympic / Paralympic Games ticket order, or to RETURN and request their Olympic / Paralympic Games event ticket order be returned for a ticket face value refund in Japanese Yen.

Unfortunately, the tight and short deadline for such return requests (over which we have no control) is being dictated by TOCOG, therefore all clients that intend on requesting a return to TOCOG of their event ticket order will need to complete, sign, and return the document (which we shall issue by this Friday 26th March 2021) to KSG by no later than Friday 2nd April 2021.

We will email all ticket holders access to this form. It will also be available on this page https://tokyo.kingdomsg.com/postponed

A scanned copy of the completed and signed form will be acceptable.

If a client chooses to KEEP their order, those tickets will be converted to PDF and issued to the email of the account holder later when ultimately distributed by TOCOG.

We are aware clients would like clarity on the date they will be provided any ticket face value refunds by TOCOG.

TOCOG have informed us that TOCOG is having this actioned sometime from June 2021 ( TOCOG have not confirmed a precise date yet).

For Package clients, we shall update you on the non-ticket component aspects of packages as soon as we have further meaningful information of some substance from the Japanese suppliers.

Please note however that unfortunately we do not expect this to be quick process and will take some weeks for such information to be forthcoming.

As there is still much work to be done, we kindly thank you for your understanding as the situation remains fluid and is developing on a daily basis.

Please note that none of the above is deemed or can be construed to be a waiver or variation of KSG’s terms and conditions of sale. which remain on foot and KSG’s rights thereto at all times remain preserved.

Kind regards

The KSG Team

21st March 2021 Important Update:

We refer to the overnight announcement in the Japanese media regarding the decision of the Japanese Government to restrict the attendance of international spectators to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2021.

As a result of this decision, Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee has announced that both the Olympic and Paralympic Games scheduled for July until September this year will be held without international spectators.

You can read the Official Statement via the following link

https://tokyo2020.org/en/news/statement-on-overseas-spectators-for-the-olympic-and-paralympic-games-tokyo-2020

As this significant decision has only just been announced, without any other detail, it is very early on in this process, and we need to work with the affected suppliers and Japanese authorities to determine what outcomes may available.  KSG shall work closely with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (TOCOG), as well as our National Olympic Committees and Paralympics Australia we represent.

Whilst we fully understand the levels of concern that such an announcement will have inevitably caused, we nevertheless ask for your patience as we investigate possible outcomes available, as well as the consequential policies and procedures to be set by Tokyo 2020 (when published) as approved by the IOC and IPC.

Whilst we shall be asking for this information to be provided in a timely manner, it is realistically anticipated to possibly take some weeks for all stakeholders to start to determine the variety of ensuing complex issues.

We ask for your understanding and patience and give you our assurance we are fully committed to the process going forward.

Kind regards

The KSG Team

22 January 2021

Statement from Kingdom Sports Group:

You may have read or heard about a news article published from the UK today which alleged that the Japanese government will be cancelling the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, in reliance upon the hearsay of an unnamed person from an unnamed source.

The Japanese Prime Minister last Monday confirmed that the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games are proceeding.

Today, in response to that article, the Japanese Prime Minister has stood up in the Japanese parliament in Tokyo and stated unequivocally that the Games are both proceeding, and are not being cancelled.

The IOC President has today also separately stated that the Tokyo 2020 Games are not being cancelled and will proceed in July 2021.

TOCOG (Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee) have also confirmed to us today that the Games are proceeding in July 2021.

Please note that all and any decision on the future of any Olympic or Paralympic Games at all times will only be issued by the Japanese Government (for Tokyo 2020) and the IOC.
In the absence of any official statement , all other media reports and speculation ought be ignored, and we suggest that clients be very wary of media articles that report hearsay, rely upon unattributable sources, and engage in speculation absent of any official statement.

17 NOVEMBER 2020

In June 2020, there was a window opened by Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (TOCOG) for international ticket holders to return their tickets for consignment resale service. All of our clients who took up this option for ticket-only purchases have already successfully received their refund (of face value less agent’s commission) in Japanese Yen.

KSG has continued to liaise with TOCOG on the ability for overseas residents to be considered in their policy and decision making around ticket holders due to the ongoing issues around the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are confident of the Games proceeding with international Spectators, and TOCOG have indicated repeatedly that the Games are proceeding.

Announcements have since been made recently by TOCOG, to the effect that Japanese domestic resident ticket holders living in Japan may be able to return their tickets provided they do so by 30 November 2020.

As you know, KSG’s terms and conditions governing all ticket and/or package purchase(s) expressly state that a purchaser cannot cancel their purchase for any reason and that all sales are final, unless and only unless the actual Olympic or Paralympic event itself is officially cancelled by TOCOG, and then and only then a ticket face value refund would be available for that cancelled event ticket only.

Where TOCOG agrees to refund the face value only of the ticket(s), upon that face value amount being received from TOCOG, such face value amount would subsequently be remitted back to the affected ticket holder.

As TOCOG have repeatedly confirmed, the Tokyo 2020 Games have not been and are not cancelled, merely postponed to equivalent 2021 dates.

After lengthy negotiations with TOCOG, and without prejudice to our terms and conditions of sale, we have made the decision to permit any clients that have contacted us seeking further information on the ticketing refunds,  to avail themselves of the following option(s) (even though strictly legally speaking we are not legally obligated to do so).

Standalone TICKET ONLY purchases made for Tokyo 2020

KSG accepts the policy by TOCOG all ticket holders would be expected to want to use the tickets they have already purchased on the postponed dates in 2021 for the Tokyo 2020 Games.   All tickets have been automatically transferred to the new dates in 2021, but the event shall nevertheless still be referred to and known as The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

TOCOG has already confirmed the new event schedule and all ticket holders have been automatically moved to the new dates. The publication of the updated sports schedule can be found here

Olympic Games             https://tokyo2020.org/en/schedule/

Paralympic Games        https://tokyo2020.org/en/paralympics/schedule/

Games tickets’ dispatch is now scheduled for June 2021.  All ticket holders will have opportunities to confirm their delivery address at a later date, or consider collection in Japan from our Games Time HQ at the Tokyo Hilton, Shinjuku in July / August 2021.

IF YOU CAN NOT ATTEND TOKYO 2020 in 2021

If as a “ticket only” purchaser you are unable to attend Tokyo 2020 in 2021, you have the following option for consideration. It is important to understand you cannot pick and choose or request a partial change to your order, it is an all or nothing consideration.

The option available is as follows:

TOCOG ticket return request.

We can request TOCOG accept a return of your tickets and ask TOCOG for a refund of the face value of such ticket(s).

In the event and in the event only that TOCOG accepts a return of your full ticket order(s), you will receive a refund equivalent to the FACE VALUE only.

However, please note that such refund will not be made by TOCOG until 6 December 2021, a date over which we have no control.

If you do decide to proceed and get a refund in December 2021 KSG will pass o such face value refund within 14 days of cleared face value only funds being received for your tickets by KSG from TOCOG.

If we are only able to return part of your order(s) to TOCOG, or if we are only able to resell part of your order(s), for the avoidance of doubt, you will only be entitled to a refund for the part of the order(s) that we are able to recover any funds for.

The successful Tokyo 2020 return face value amount will be paid back to you, 14 days after we have received the cleared funds from TOCOG.

Whilst some might consider this refund date as excessive, it is important to understand this is a goodwill offer being made by TOCOG and is above and beyond and without prejudice to the contractual terms and conditions you agreed to at the time you placed your order.

The deadline to communicate to KSG that you no longer are able to attend Tokyo 2020 in 2021, and to exercise this option, is no later than 5.00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time on Monday 7 December 2020.

After this date the above options will no longer be available, and all sales remain final and remain as always subject to our standard terms and conditions of sale.

All communications on this issue must be in writing via email only and received by KSG prior to the deadline on 7 December 2020.

PLEASE NOTE that should you choose not to avail yourself of this option by no later than 7 December 2020, then all sales to you remain as per our contractual terms and conditions.

PLEASE NOTE the ultimate authority in the ticketing program is TOCOG and they have made it clear that there will be no further opportunity provided to international spectators to return their event tickets.

PLEASE NOTE that even where you request KSG to apply for a return of your tickets to TOCOG for a face value refund, we cannot guarantee that TOCOG will necessarily agree to or accept any particular ticket return, as all return requests are to be processed by TOCOG in the sole and absolute discretion and KSG makes no representation or warranty (expressly or impliedly) that any tickets sought to be returned to TOCOG will be accepted for return by TOCOG, and hence KSG shall not be liable whatsoever should any requested return be unsuccessful in whole or in part.

PLEASE NOTE that nothing in this document amends, alters, modifies or changes KSG’s standard terms and conditions of sale or your legal obligations pursuant to same.

If the package / ticket bundle / hospitality purchaser does not wish to attend Tokyo 2020 to be held in 2021, you have two options for consideration. It is important to understand you cannot pick and choose or request a partial change to your order, it is an all or nothing consideration. These options are as follows:

OPTION 1 – Consignment resale service.

KSG will try to resell your total package / bundle / hospitality order(s) on a consignment resale basis.

Where KSG is able to resell your product to a permitted third party, you will receive a value of 75% of the total price you paid, by way of a refund from KSG.

It is important to understand this is only available to clients that purchased a retail package through our website.

If you have purchased a custom package or a corporate package, we are sorry, but we cannot offer any refund or return due to the contractual arrangements in place.

OPTION 2 – Transfer your package.

KSG will allow you to transfer your package / bundle / hospitality order(s) to another eligible guest, relative, friend, person that is known to you. The strict condition with this option is you are not permitted to resell or otherwise trade in the product provided to you for any profit or sell for more than what you have paid. In agreeing to this option, your legal obligation still remains as the original purchaser, and your proof of residency to show you were a valid resident of the KSG territory we were authorised to sell into would still be required if evidence is requested by us to you.

Deadline to notify of exercise of an option

The deadline to communicate to the KSG team that you no longer wish to attend Tokyo 2020 in 2021, and for you to exercise one of these 2 options is no later than 5.00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time on Monday 7 December 2020.

After this date, the options will no longer be available and all sales remain final and remain as always subject to our standard terms and conditions of sale. All communications on this issue must be in writing and received by KSG prior to the deadline on 7 December 2020.

PLEASE NOTE that should you choose the consignment resale option, KSG shall publish your package as being available for consignment resale, but in doing so does not represent or warrant (expressly or impliedly) that such package can or will be resold, and KSG shall not be liable whatsoever should any requested resale or consignment resale not occur or be unsuccessful.

PLEASE NOTE that nothing in this document amends, alters, modifies or changes KSG’s standard terms and conditions of sale or your legal obligations pursuant to same.

We thank you for taking time to review all of the options available to you, and rest assured we have spent a long time over the last few months looking at all available options for our guests for their consideration.

If you wish to proceed with a return request, please advise by reply email and we will issue you a contract for you to sign.

You have 7 days from the issue of the contract to sign and return to us to proceed or your request will not be considered.

The deadline for the above option(s) is 5.00pm AEDT Monday 7 December 2020.

20th July 2020

The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (TOCOG) have now confirmed the event line-up for each competition session of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, following their postponement to 2021.

Tokyo 2020, the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee agreed in April that given the critical impact of the competition schedule on every aspect of preparation, each session of the 2021 competition would in principle be scheduled as originally planned for 2020. This has been reflected in the confirmed competition schedule, noting that for operational reasons the start and end times of certain events have been adjusted.

Events in 2021 will take place at the same competition venues that were planned to be used in 2020. Preparations for the Games continue as Tokyo 2020 works to resolve any remaining issues including the periods of venue usage.

You can view the updated schedule by clicking on the image below

The Competition Schedule

In the next few weeks all ticket holders will be sent a new updated invoice to reflect the new dates / times that their tickets have been automatically rescheduled for.

July 2020

Kingdom Sports Group and Tokyo 2020 would like to share the following important Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games updates.

Please note that:

  • The timeline below is as currently proposed by Tokyo 2020, but may possibly be subject to change; and
  • If there are to be any future program adjustments, Tokyo 2020 will communicate any (if any) changes when updates are confirmed.
  • Please note the fundamental principle of Tokyo 2020 that all ticket holders would be expected to want to use the tickets they have already purchased on the postponed dates in the same months in 2021 for the Tokyo 2020 Games. In principle all tickets are to be automatically transferred to the corresponding new dates in 2021, but the Games shall nevertheless still be referred to and known as The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Programme Timeline – Next Steps

  1. Applications for consignment resale services closed on 30th June 2020.
  2. Applications relating to Standalone ticket requests only, have now been passed to Tokyo 2020.

KSG’s terms and conditions of trade remain valid and applicable at all times.

Tokyo 2020 wishes to advise the following to clients:

More information about deliveries and address reconfirmation will be published at a later date.
  7. June 2021:
Ticket deliveries expected to take place.

KSG wish to thank all of our clients for your patience and understanding as we have been negotiating these matters with Tokyo 2020 over the last few months, and hope you all are looking forward to a great event in 2021 as we move together to the next phase of planning for Tokyo 2020

End June 2020

We remind you that the Tokyo 2020 ticketing options regarding refunds or returns on consignment has now expired.

The deadline was 5pm 30th June 2020, Australian Eastern Standard Time.

We are not able to process any further requests moving forward.

June 2020

The management and staff at Kingdom Sports Group (KSG) firstly trust you are safe and healthy during this unprecedented pandemic.

The various challenges we have all individually faced over the last few months have certainly been trying and stressful.

We are pleased to advise that after some months of constant liaising with Tokyo 2020, we now have an update on the ticket sales programme for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

KSG has worked closely with Tokyo 2020 on trying to provide a variety of sensible and realistic options to all genuinely affected ticket holders, whist necessarily complying with the contractual conditions of tickets sales that are mandated by Tokyo 2020, together with KSG’s legal rights and obligations as an authorised ticket reseller and your legal rights and obligations as a ticket purchaser for Tokyo 2020.

These discussions, which have taken place over the last few months, have enabled us to offer the following options.

As you know, KSG’s terms and conditions governing all ticket and/or package purchase(s) expressly state that a purchaser cannot cancel their purchase for any reason and that all sales are final.

Only if the actual Olympic or Paralympic event itself is formally cancelled by the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee, then and only then for that cancelled event only, Tokyo 2020 have promised to refund the face value only of the ticket(s), and upon that face value amount being received from Tokyo 2020 the face value amount would be remitted back to the affected ticket holder.

As Tokyo 2020 have repeatedly confirmed, the Tokyo 2020 Games have not been and are not cancelled, merely postponed to equivalent 2021 dates.

After lengthy negotiations with Tokyo 2020, and without prejudice to our terms and conditions of sale, we have made the decision to permit any clients that have contacted us seeking further information on the ticketing program to avail themselves of the following option(s) (even though strictly legally speaking we are not legally obligated to do so).

Standalone TICKET ONLY purchases made for Tokyo 2020

  • KSG accepts the policy by Tokyo 2020 all ticket holders would be expected to want to use the tickets they have already purchased on the postponed dates in 2021 for the Tokyo 2020 Games.   In Principle all tickets are to be automatically transferred to the new dates in 2021, but the event shall nevertheless still be referred to and known as The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
  • Tokyo 2020 will shortly provide its formal written confirmation the new event schedule dates.  We have been advised that this will occur in or before August 2020.  Please note that Tokyo 2020 has full control of Games ticketing and KSG is obligated to await the formal documentation from Tokyo 2020, which we are led to believe they are currently finalising for publication.
  • Games tickets dispatch is now scheduled for early 2021.  All ticket holders will have opportunities to confirm their delivery address at a later date, or consider collection in Japan from our Games Time HQ at the Tokyo Hilton, Shinjuku in July / August 2021.
  • IF YOU CAN NOT ATTEND TOKYO 2020 in 2021
    • If the standalone ticket purchaser does not wish to attend Tokyo 2020 to be held in 2021, you have the following option for consideration. It is important to understand you cannot pick and choose or request a partial change to your order, it is an all or nothing consideration. The option available is as follows:
    • CANCELLATION BY YOU – Consignment resale service/Tokyo 2020 acceptance. You can request us to try to resell your entire ticket order(s) on a consignment re-sale basis, or we can request Tokyo 2020 accept a return of your tickets and provide a refund of the face value of such ticket(s). In the event and in the event only that either Tokyo 2020 accepts a return of your full ticket order(s), or if we are able to resell your 100% full ticket order(s) to an alternative third party, you will receive a FACE VALUE only refund from KSG for the ticket order(s) or such part thereof either accepted by Tokyo 2020 for return and/or resold by KSG by way of consignment resale, within 14 days of cleared face value only funds being received by KSG for that resale or Tokyo 2020 refund. If we are only able to return part of your order(s) to Tokyo 2020, or if we are only able to resell part of your order(s), for the avoidance of doubt, you will only be entitled to a refund for the part of the order(s) that we are able to recover any funds for.   The successful Tokyo 2020 return face value amount or the successful consignment resale face value amount will be paid back to you, once we receive the cleared funds from either Tokyo 2020 or from the successful consignment re-sale to a permitted third party, so a specific date cannot be provided as this is still under discussion as to when Tokyo 2020 will permit tickets to go back on sale. The absolute final date for payment will be 6th December 2021, that being 90 days post the closing Ceremony of the Paralympic Games, but KSG currently anticipates an earlier date, and will provide any clients that select this option with updated information when it is advised by Tokyo 2020.The deadline to communicate to the KSG team that you no longer wish to attend Tokyo 2020 in 2021, and for you to exercise this option, is no later than 5.00pm Australian Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday 30 June 2020.  After this date the option will no longer be available, and all sales remain final and remain as always subject to our standard terms and conditions of sale. All communications on this issue must be in writing and received by KSG prior to the deadline on 30 June 2020.

PLEASE NOTE that should you choose not to avail yourself of this option by no later than 30 June 2020, then all sales to you remain as per our contractual terms and conditions.

PLEASE NOTE that if you request KSG to try and return your tickets to Tokyo 2020 for a face value refund, we cannot guarantee that Tokyo 2020 will necessarily agree to or accept any particular ticket return, as all return requests are to be processed by Tokyo 2020 in the sole and absolute discretion and KSG makes no representation or warranty (expressly or impliedly) that any tickets sought to be returned to Tokyo 2020 will be accepted for return by Tokyo 2020, and hence KSG shall not be liable whatsoever should any requested return be unsuccessful in whole or in part.

PLEASE NOTE that nothing in this document amends, alters, modifies or changes KSG’s standard terms and conditions of sale or your legal obligations pursuant to same.

Package, Ticket bundle and Hospitality purchases for Tokyo 2020

  • KSG accepts the policy by Tokyo 2020 that all package, ticket bundle and hospitality purchasers will wish to use the products they have already purchased to the postponed dates of 2021 for the Olympic Games or the Paralympic Games.

  • IF YOU CAN NOT ATTEND TOKYO 2020 in 2021
    • If the package / ticket bundle / hospitality purchaser does not wish to attend Tokyo 2020 to be held in 2021, you have two options for consideration. It is important to understand you cannot pick and choose or request a partial change to your order, it is an all or nothing consideration. These options are as follows:
    • CANCELLATION BY YOU OPTION 1 – Consignment resale service. KSG will try to resell your total package / bundle / hospitality order(s) on a consignment resale basis.  Where KSG is able to resell your product to a  permitted third party, you will receive a value of 75% of what you paid by way of a refund from KSG.   It is important to understand this is only available to clients that purchased a retail package through our website. If you have purchased a custom package or a corporate package, we are sorry, but we cannot offer any refund or return due to the contractual arrangements in place.
    • CANCELLATION BY YOU OPTION 2 – Transfer your package. KSG will allow you to transfer your package / bundle / hospitality order(s) to another eligible guest, relative, friend, person that is known to you. The strict condition with this option is you are not permitted to resell or otherwise trade in the product provided to you for any profit or sell for more that what you have paid. PLEASE NOTE that nothing in this document amends, alters, modifies or changes KSG’s standard terms and conditions of sale or your obligations pursuant to same.

Potential future changes to ticket holders by Tokyo 2020

In the event that any changes are made by Tokyo 2020 to ticketing, any affected clients will receive communication from KSG on the options that will be made available to them.

We thank you for taking time to review all of the options available to you, and rest assured we have spent a long time over the last few months looking at all available options for our guests for their consideration.

Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games Postponement Update

As many of you are undoubtedly aware of by now, overnight the International Olympic Committee and the Japanese Government made a statement about postponing the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and also as a result the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

In a joint press release, the President of the IOC and the Japanese Prime Minister stated:-

In the present circumstances and based on the information provided by the WHO today, the IOC President and the Prime Minister of Japan have concluded that the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo must be rescheduled to a date beyond 2020 but not later than summer 2021, to safeguard the health of the athletes, everybody involved in the Olympic Games and the international community.

We therefore can confirm that the Tokyo 2020 Games have been merely postponed, NOT cancelled.  As the IOC And Tokyo 2020 have stressed form the very beginning, the Games will NOT be cancelled, and have not been cancelled.

At this immediate time, the exact date of the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games has not been announced, but there appears to be a general expectation that the postponement will be for literally 12 months with the Games to commence at the same time in July 2021 and with the same program.

However, at this time, we are unable to confirm the exact dates and the program, but anticipate being in a position to do so shortly.

We shall continuously monitor the situation closely and ensure that we continue to liaise with Tokyo 2020 to provide you with updated information and continue to work in the best interests of our clients in respect of the postponed program.

The postponement has been welcomed and fully supported by all National Olympic Committees, National Paralympic Committees, Sporting federations and other stakeholders relating to the Games who are collectively committed  to ensure that Tokyo 2020 will be the best Games ever staged despite the unfortunate postponed due to Covid-19.

We will shortly post on our website further information.
